English Language Assessment And Referral Services

Our Language Assessment and Referral Centre provides prospective students with English language assessment for admission into higher education, these include: International English Language Testing System (IELTS), Test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL), and English as a Second Language (ESL) test services. We also assist students in getting their Higher-level language training (HLLT) programs such as ELT (Enhanced Language Training), OSLT (Occupation Specific Language Training), and SLT (Specialized Language Training) when required.

All of the language assessments are recognized standards which measure four language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing). Our language Assessment and Referral Centre can provide you with information on the locations and class schedules of the language training options required as well as enroll you in or provide you with a referral to government-funded English language training programs if available.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

Depending on which country you are going to, you may have to take an English-language proficiency test called Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) to demonstrate how well you can speak, write and read in English, before applying to a publicly-funded college or university. Our specialists will guide you and provide you with all the necessary information required to write and pass the test, and we will also provide details of test centres, costs and schedules for your chosen English Language test. We will be referring to testing centres such as the Educational Testing Service (ETS). The ETS is an American company that offers language-testing assistance to students all over the world. ETS will explain what their TOEFL test is about, what documents to bring on test day and, before you write the actual test, you will have the chance to practise writing the test online.

There is also a branch office in Nigeria – ETS Nigeria. Through ETS Nigeria you can purchase a guide to further assist you with the TOEFL test. There are other English language tests that an educational institution may suggest that you take. However the TOEFL is usually the one accepted by all universities and colleges.
